Marquee flooring advice |
| |
|
| The following are the most popular options of marquee flooring. We supply carpet but we also pass on details of where to buy matting or solid floors. |
| |
|
 |
No flooring - leave the grass or hard surface bare
- grass can become muddy or worn
- hard standing can become waterlogged in bad weather
|
Carpet
- a relatively cheap option
- usually laid over polythene to stop any moisture coming through
- held in place using 4"/6" nails
- available in several different shades
- can only be used 2-20 times (darker colours last longer)
- disposing can be difficult
|
Coconut matting
- long lasting - on average lasts for 3-4 years in the (heavy-usage) marquee hire industry
- usually laid over polythene to stop any moisture coming through
- held in place using 4"/6" nails
- available in 2-3 different shades
- approximately twice the price of carpet
- gives a rougher, thicker surface than carpet
- disposing can be difficult at the end of its life
|
Solid floor
- gives a solid feel underfoot - often carpet is laid on top to give the complete superior finish
- raises the ground height so eliminates any risk of flooding in severe weather
- very expensive to lay (plywood boards screwed together with batons underneath)
- very time consuming to make
