The beginners guide to bbq garden marquees |
| |
|
|
If you have a BBQ in Britain you're taking a risk unless you have a marquee. Hopefully only used for shelter out of the sun a marquee is always there in case our wonderful British weather lets you down.
The following pieces of advice are drawn from our years of hiring out and organising party marquees. We are always happy to discuss your requirements in more detail in person or by phone/email. |

Furniture

- Furniture is usually scattered around the garden with very little inside so ensure a weatherproof chair option is chosen (white plastic for example)
- Having extra furniture stacked in a corner for extra guests is always useful

Dance floors

- Only required if your BBQ is going on into the evening

Bars

People (mainly blokes) will always congregate around the bar. For this reason always position it near the daytime entertainment to avoid having two parties.
Your aim should always be to keep everyone in one place to maintain the atmosphere so avoid having the bar in a separate marquee or in the house.

Other tips
- You should have a large enough marquee to house all of your guests in an emergency (heavy rain) but not necessarily spaciously!
- Lighting and decoration can be minimal or non-existent as most people should be out in the garden
- Heating will always be required in October to April. In May and September heaters would only be needed if your BBQ was in the evening
